Working cats (previously known as barn cats) are cats that are unsocialized, sometimes grumpy and prefer living outdoors. For this reason, they cannot be adopted into a home traditionally. If these cats are turned in to local shelters they are at risk of euthanasia. County shelters typically reach out to our rescue in order to transfer these cats into our program.
Our Working Cat project is designed to save these cats by placing them in situations in which they work for a property, as free, all-natural (chemical-free) pest control, in turn for food and shelter. Working cats can be adopted by owners of farms, barns, warehouses, private property (residential), breweries, and more. There is no cost to adopt a working cat through our project, however we happily accept donations which will help keep our project going.
